Penryn Athletic’s Jack Rapsey joins Wadebridge Town

Penryn Athletic’s second top scorer of the 2021/22 season has left the club to join another South West Peninsula Premier West side.

It was announced on Saturday afternoon that Jack Rapsey, son of Mark Rapsey who holds the record for most non-league goals scored (goals in 2012), had left the Kernick Road side to return to his former side in Wadebridge Town.

Rapsey’s 21/22 campaign saw the striker score 12 goals in 23 league appearances as Penryn finished 13th in the table.

His last goal against Penryn turned out to be against his new side as he and Jake Shaw found the net for Ryn in a 2-1 win towards the end of April.

Posting on Twitter, the striker said: “I’m looking forward to the season ahead and can’t wait to be back at Bridge!”

Penryn is looking for players ahead of the 2022/23 campaign. Their pre-season, managed by their new manager Micky Hunt, begins on Saturday July 9 when they host Mousehole Reserves with a 3pm kick-off.

Any interested players wishing to join the club should contact new manager Micky Hunt via 07442348652
