Beatles fans of all ages are invited to enjoy the tenth annual John Lennon and The Beatles Tribute at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 12 in the lower level Community Room of the River Falls Public Library.

River Falls poet and musician Thomas R. Smith hosts this annual musical performance and poetry reading in honor of former Beatle John Lennon, whose death on December 8, 1980 was a sad day for all who loved his music.

The group consists of Smith and Doug Wilson on guitars and vocals, Ken Thatcher on percussion, Chris TerMaat on piano and vocals from a three-piece choir with Lucinda Plaisance, Krista Spieler and Kathy Ward. This is not a strict duplication of the Beatles’ sound, but a folk performance based on acoustics and vocals at the same time is not only welcome, but encouraged.

Special guests will include River Falls poet Thomas Hendrickson and Twin Cities poet Klecko.

Free entry. COVID-19 security measures are in place and masks are mandatory.

Join the holiday spirit with live music, refreshments and craft kits at the River Falls Public Library on Thursday, December 9 from 12 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The event will feature live music, refreshments, crafts, performances by costumed singers from River Falls High School and the Winsome Hollow String Band, henna art, face painting, games with Fox Den Books and Reindeer Live.

Al & Mrs. Al’s Kettle Corn will be selling bags of kettle corn in the lobby from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for $ 6 per bag while supplies last.

On Thursday, December 9, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., the third part of the genealogy class will be held at the Hudson-area Public Library. This event is 18 years old and over and registration is requested. The classroom is virtual.
