This weekend marks the return of the FA Vase campaign.
The trophy is an annual football competition for temas playing in stages five and six of the non-league system. In Cornwall, this includes the Toolstation Western League (stage five) and the West and East Divisions of the South West Peninsula League (stage six).
Wendron United and Helston Athletic only enter the competition in the second qualifying round, while Falmouth Town are one of nine Cornish sides who are called up to play in the first qualifying round.
The winning club from the first qualifying round will receive £550 and the loser will receive £160, alternatively if a club is drawn from the second qualifying round the winning sum is £725 and the losing sum is £225.
At this stage of the competition. The city will host AFC St Austell on the west side of the South West Peninsula League. Other Duchy teams (in bold) involved will see Godolphin Atlantic against Barnstaple, Camelford against Ilfracombe, wadebridge against Cullompton Rangers, Bovey Tracey against Newquay, Dobwalls against Villa Elburton, Bodmin Town against Odd Down and Elmore against Saint Blazey.
Wendron United and Helston Athletic are set to contest the second qualifying round. The Drons are parked to play away at Western League side Torpoint Athletic.
There will be a home game for Helston as they take on Saltash United at Kellaway Park. The last time the teams met was in the Toolsstation Western league earlier this month, where the teams played to a 1-1 draw. day.
The other Cornish teams that will join the competition in the second round (in bold) are Bishops Lydeford vs Liskeard, Millbrook against Ivybridge Town, Camelford or Ilfracombe against Elmore or Saint Blazey, Town of Callington versus Town of Wadebridge or Cullompton Rangers, and Shepton Mallet against mouse hole.
