FA Cup, Western League and Peninsula League fixtures this weekend

A local FA Cup preliminary round derby is set to take center stage this weekend as Helston Athletic host Falmouth Town in what will be the sides’ first meeting since October 2020.

In that match, Helston prevailed 4-3 on the day thanks to an injury time winner from Billy Tucker.

Helston come into the game after a 1-1 draw with Saltash in midweek while Falmouth will look to extend their winning streak to four matches in all competitions.

Other Cornish sides in the competition include Torpoint and Mousehole who will face off for the second time already this season at The Mill. Mousehole won 5-1 in their last meeting.

If the ties are equal at 90 minutes, the match will be replayed.

There are two Cornish sides playing in the West League this weekend, with Millbrook looking to continue their impressive start to the season. The East Cornwall side are fourth in the current table and will host Barnstaple Town in their next game.

Saltash will look to kick off their 1-1 draw with Helston when they host bottom-of-the-table Keynsham Town at Waterways Stadium.

West Southwest Peninsula League:
Eight games are penciled in for the SWPL West. League leaders St Blazey will look to continue their 100 per cent record as they travel to Sticker, which will be bolstered by the addition of Falmouth Town striker Jack Bowyer.

Wendron United will be aiming to put their 3-1 loss to Wadebdrige last time out behind them as they take on St Dennis in what is their third successive away game.
After beating Wadebridge 3-1 in midweek thanks to a hattrick from James Lorenz, Liskeard welcome tenth-placed Bodmin Town.

Newcomers Bude Town and Mullion are still unbeaten this season. Bude will face eighth-placed Dobwalls while Mullion host league bottom Launceston.

In other matches, St Austell take on Wadebridge, Camelford travel to Callington and Penzance host Godolphin Atlantic.

St Piran West League:
Four matches are taking place in the St Piran League this weekend. After a ten-day wait since their league opener at Wendron United Reserves, Porthleven are in action as they travel to Trungle Park to play Mousheole Development.

Currently second in the table, Wendron reserves will be looking to overtake leaders St Day as they seek three points on the road at Perranporth.

Fourth-placed Hayle will travel to Perranporth, while Penryn Athletic will seek their first win of the season at St Agnes.
